Start your day with a selection of small group exercise classes from Smart Workout’s menu of more than 30 different types of classes. Enjoy Pilates on the Reformer machine, TRX Suspension, Pole dancing, Trampoline, as well as traditional favorites like yoga, kickboxing, and so many more.

Follow this with a cooking demonstration, and a chat with our nutritionist, to learn shopping and cooking tips that can genuinely be sustained when you go back to the demands and challenges of your real world life.

And then we take you out on the town, to experience the excitement of New York City, all the while burning calories.

In the winter, we’ll take you ice skating in Bryant Park; and during the summer, we’ll paddle-boat in Central Park, and rollerblade along the Hudson River Path.

We’ll walk through the Metropolitan Museum, and The American Museum of Natural History, while wearing pedometers and reaching fitness goals.

We’ll indulge in decadent spas (NYC has the best!), take in some theatre, and go to dance centers for lessons in salsa and swing,

We’ll eat in first class restaurants, like the world famous Oyster Bar. We’ve arranged for healthful, portion-controlled selections, to be brought to you. All you have to do, is sit back, eat, and enjoy.

And you will be fully escorted throughout. You’ll enjoy warm, personalized attention from Smart Workout’s caring staff, while reveling in the world’s greatest city.

Activities

Our vacation week is filled with “fitness outings” to NYC’s heralded sights and cultural attractions.

In the winter months our excursions include the Metropolitan Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art. In the warmer months our fitness walks include stops at some of NYC’s smaller gems, like the Forbes Museum, and the Museum at FIT. In the spring we’ll go to the Orchard Show at the NYC Botanical Gardens; and in the summertime, we’ll walk along the paths of the Cloisters, City Island, and the Bronx Zoo. We’ll walk the full length of the Highline Park, rollerblade on the Hudson River Path, and ice skate in Bryant Park.

We give you a pedometer at the start of your stay, and set “step” goals for each day, and for each sight visited on that day.

Our philosophy, and our certainty, is that you can have an enjoyable time while burning calories, and if we can help you to enjoy working out, you’ll be more likely to continue this healthy lifestyle after your stay with us is over.

Our evening activities include dance lessons and social dancing at professional dance centers, and of course, an evening of theatre.

All your hard work deserves some indulgence, to pamper your spirit and to soothe your hard-worked muscles. So our vacations include visits to some of New York City’s grandest spas, where you can soak in whirlpools and waterfalls, and have wonderful spa treatments.

We visit different museums every week, and all our activities change seasonally. So stay with us for 2 weeks or longer, and come back to visit frequently. We’ll promise to always show you a good time, while helping you to feel good!

The Smart Workout Vacation Week offers a comprehensive range of activities, designed to get you moving, and to increase your energy level.

Our certified fitness professionals, highly qualified, and caring, will help you to do it right.

No matter what your preferences, physical condition, or age, you’re sure to find activities that you will enjoy.

The Smart Workout gym is fully equipped with a weight-plate resistance circuit, cardiovascular training equipment, TRX, boxing bags, and much more.

You can do independent workouts, or participate in your choice of Smart Workout’s innovative small group exercise classes. All classes accommodate mixed fitness levels. Previous experience is not necessary.

Smart Workout offers more than 30 different types of classes, so you’re certain to find classes just right for you. Our class size is limited to a maximum of 6 people in a class, so you’ll get personal attention from our instructors. They will encourage and inform you, and modify each exercise to make it appropriate for your fitness level.

From gentle stretching to rigorous workouts, from dance classes to meditative yoga, from the trendy (TRX suspension, Pole dancing) to your traditional favorites (Spin, Kickboxing) Smart Workout has it all. And if you haven’t yet tried Pilates on the Reformer Machine, this is a perfect time and place. We offer Pilates Reformer daily, covered in our all-inclusive price.

Meals

Our approach to meals is to give you “real life” skills, which can enable you to continue healthy eating when you return to your home.

We give you meals that are made from readily available ingredients, which can be prepared when you don’t have much time. We teach you how to make selections from restaurant menus that are healthy, as well as satisfying.

For breakfast, we lay out options in portion controlled containers with recommendations for combinations. We provide you with the counts for calories, protein, fat, and fiber grams. The choice of what to eat is yours. Our goal is to help you become aware of portion sizes, and the nutrition composition of your selections.

For lunch, we have cooking demonstrations. You make your own meal, with our cooking tips, and then we give you the recipes to take home.

We’ll raise your nutritional intelligence, and teach practical skills that you can use every day to make healthy, great-tasting dishes.

Lunches are followed by a chat with a Smart Workout nutritionist who will explore with you issues affecting your body’s biochemistry, weight, and overall health.

Dinners are in superior restaurants, such as Dock’s, East of Eighth, The Oyster Bar, and Josie’s, to name some.

In advance of our meal, we’ll show you some of the selections from the restaurant’s usual menu, and have you make choices.
Then we’ll arrange to have those choices given to you, in the appropriate portion size.

When you arrive at the restaurant, we’ll present you with the nutritional details of your selection. Then you sit back, eat, and enjoy.

We’ll show you how you can make healthy selections for tasty and satisfying meals, while eating out in fine restaurants.

We want to give you knowledge, and tactics, and send you home with a realistic plan to achieve your healthy intentions.

Our guests enjoy the comfortable facilities of the St. Gilles Court Hotel, located just around the corner from Smart Workout, at 39th Street and Lexington Ave.

Each room in the St. Gilles has two Queen size beds, complimentary WiFi, mini fridge, flat screen TVs, and includes bathrobes, slippers, and bath amenities.

The St. Gilles’ fireplace lounge, and outdoor courtyard, make comfy places to relax when you want to take a break, or wind down from your active day.

Laundry Service is available at Smart Workout, free to our Vacation participants.

Cancelations

A $35 processing fee per person is charged on all cancellations. The balance of your payment will be returned if cancellation is received 2 weeks prior to scheduled arrival date. If you cancel your reservation for any reason (including emergencies) less than 14 days before arrival, but no more than 7 days, we will give you the option of holding your payment as a credit against future reservations made within the year, or returning 90% of your payment. Cancellations less than 7 days prior to arrival will incur a penalty of 20% of the payment. No credit is give for late arrival or early departures.
